Mixing and painting OPEN medium:

1 pint mineral oil
1 oz. light balsam of copaiba
1/2 oz. clove oil

If you want your painting medium to dry a little faster, add a few drops of copaiba, that is the drying control.

Drying pen medium:

1 pint dark balsam of copaiba
2 oz. fat oil

If it starts thickening add turpentine to bottle

Mix with open paint on your palette it will not dry....mix with dry powder and it will dry hard.

I use thick pine oil for raised paste and for base for gold or enamel powder.

Glycerine is also good for raised base (white powder) but if very humid it will flatten.

For wet grounding you can use fat oil or heavy copaiba mixed fairly thick, and thin with lavender oil a little.  Thin a lot for stamping.

I like to do wet grounding with silk screen oil best.  Mix the powder more moist with this and thin only a little with lavender.

Regardless of which mixture used, if you glob it on too heavy or unevenly...it will pop off, so use with care.
